This man has been staying in the back of his father's SUV until he finds a hospital that could help him lose weight.
33-year-old Steven John Assanti, who weighs almost 800 pounds, says the hospital he was staying at kicked him out after he ordered a pizza.
Assanti had been staying at Rhode Island Hospital where he was on a weight loss journey. His goal was to get down to 550 pounds so he could be eligible for gastric bypass surgery.
He had already managed to lose 20 pounds, but that didn't matter after he broke the rules of his weight loss plan and ordered takeout.
The hospital dismissed him quickly after. Assanti turned to his father for help, but he was unable to take him home. No one in Rhode Island seemed to be able to take care of him.
"I just don't know who to turn to. I called everybody, everybody you can think of in the state of Rhode Island and nobody seems to be able to help me," he told NBC10.
This isn't the first time Assanti has looked for help. In 2007 he appeared on Dr. Phil to discuss the struggle with his weight.
Five years ago Assanti attempted to appear on The Biggest Loser when he filmed a video application. He wasn't accepted, however his father told NBC that a "television medical show" called Assanti this week.
