I don’t play a ton of video games these days, but I’m not the kind of person who really endorses banning them from ever being played.
Then again, I’ve never had one of my kids run up a $7,000 bill for playing FIFA.
Such was the case when Lance Perkins discovered that his 17-year-old son unwittingly spent 5,255.03 £’s (that weird other money) on the game.
According to Digital Spy, Lance Perkins was “floored” by the discovery.
“He thought it was a one-time fee for the game. He’s just as sick as I am, [because] he never believed he was being charged for every transaction, or every time he went onto the game.”
I do appreciate that the father makes sure to let us know that is super sick at playing that game — and that his son is equally (but not quite) as super sick at playing the game as him.
But there’s one sad tragedy in this house when it comes to video games. It turns out, Perkins is forcing his family to quit cold turkey:
“There will never be another Xbox system – or any gaming system – in my home.”
Damn. That’s cold. Now how will we ever be able to find out how ridiculously super sick at the game he was (that is, unless he was never that great to begin with).
A sad fate.
