Uber is adding another feature that could greatly improve the app.
The new add, called Family Profiles, allows any family to share one account. Any member on the list can pay for rides.
The new family pay option is similar to Uber’s existing payments option, which allows users to switch between personal and corporate accounts. Family Profiles will let you switch from personal to family accounts within seconds.
The new feature is helpful in many ways. Parents can now pay for their children’s rides to or from school. Of course, every rider needs smartphone and the app to access rides.
Family Profiles will need a managed for the account, which will be in charge of sending out invites and providing payments.
Uber’s decision to introduce Family Profiles was due to customer demand. The feature, for now, will only be available in Atlanta, Phoenix and Dallas.
